Scholarship. The Basis of Today.

Everything we are told to do requires some kind of scholarship.  Our abilities to think and solve problems are enhanced through our school and job training.  The basis of teamwork in problem solving is imperative to a post-fordist society where solving problems is accomplished through cooperation and interaction with other people.

Leadership logs are required of us throughout the year and are short essays that attempt to answer the question: "What have you learned about leadership through what we have done in class?"  This leadership log reflects on the "virtual team challenge," a game that attempts to stimulate a problem-solving situation and getting a team to work together and solve the problem.

The specific application of this Virtual Team Challenge was the focus on using teamwork to solve a problem.  Often with this program, a major obstacle to overcome was the impracticality of the program itself.  Attempting to perservere against many of these challenges would be extremely frustrating alone, but are bearable when faced with the diverse specializations found in a group.  This ability to work together and perform thorough research was my most prominent take away from this challenge.
