English. Infinite is the Power of Words.

The power of language is infinite.  Language is how we communicate all of our thoughts. These concepts are very well portrayed in several of the books read in the English 2 course.  1984 was a book that was extremely centered around the use, destruction, and lack of language and ability to communicate.  This leadership log examines how the ideas presented in 1984 and several other ancillary texts realted to language and the power it has in our daily lives.

The influence of language on the leadership in these texts is enormous.  The misuse of language by the "leaders" in these texts acts not as a guide for a good and respectable leader but more as a negative constitution for what they should not be.  A true and good leader promotes freedom, for without expression, there is no true happiness.

I was challenged with the task to create a video to examine the relationship between the connotations of words in a poem that were reflected through pictures in a video.  In this video for William Faulkner's After Fifty Years, a general abscence of color transisitions to be more lively in order to note the mood shift in the poem.

The poem possesses a nostalgic tone that exemplifies its motif of rememberence.  This video accurately reflects the poem in how one should remember the tiny feelings in life. The transition from being old and wistful to young and remembering is key to illustrating the reminisce of the poem.
